Heavy Rain Causing River Levels to Rise – Surface Flooding and Slips Possible

Notice from Wellington Regional Emergency Management Office (WREMO):

Heavy rain across the Wellington region today has been causing rivers to rise, particularly in Lower Hutt, Kapiti and the Wairarapa. Surface flooding and slips are possible, so please take care out on the roads. This heavy rain is expected to continue into the afternoon tomorrow. If you are concerned about flooding in your area, please contact your local council.
