Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency Advise that State Highway 2 over the Remutaka Hill will be closed for 1 night from 9pm Monday 26 July to 4am Tuesday 27 July to complete the clean-up from the recent storm.

Clean-up of damage from the 16-17 July storm will involve multiple sites across the hill with large machinery taking up the road.

Work will include removing slips, clearing culverts, replacing barriers and repairing the road.

We will escort vehicles across the hill at approximately these times:

• 10.30pm Hutt to Featherston side
• 11.30pm Featherston to Hutt side
• 12.30am Hutt to Featherston side
• 1.30am Featherston to Hutt side

No bookings are required but we would appreciate it if you would let us know you intend to use this escorted service.

Vehicles should queue at the closure points as directed by the hill traffic controllers.
