South Wairarapa District Council is upgrading public carparking spaces, which will reap rewards for the community once they are complete, with a brief interruption while the work is being done.
The first of these is the Waihinga Centre carpark in Martinborough on the left hand side of the building, opposite the Fire Station. Work on the carpark upgrade will take place from Monday 3 March through to Friday 14 March. This will make accessibility easier for the community and also includes the creation of an additional accessible carpark to this space.
The council looks forward to providing an upgraded carparking space for the community’s use of the Waihinga Centre, which houses the Martinborough Library, visitor centre and cafe, along with support services for the community.
Other carparks that are also on the council’s upgrade list are the Greytown playground. Featherston Swimming Pool and Sports Hub and the Otauira Reserve. Dates have yet to be determined for these upgrades and will be notified when timeframes are set.
