UPDATE: Wellington Region returns to COVID-19 Alert Level 1 at midnight on Tuesday 29 June

14:30 29 June 2021

From Wellington Region Emergency Managment Office (WREMO):

The government has announced that Wellington Region will rejoin the rest of Aotearoa at Alert Level 1 from 11.59pm tonight, Tuesday 29 June.

A big thanks everyone impacted by the changes that L2 brings to our everyday working environment.

Alert Level 2 measures ensure that if there were any cases in the Wellington region, the risk of transmission would have been minimised – in particular through two important tools: limits on gatherings and a requirement for social distancing. There have been no cases of COVID-19 detected with nearly 2,500 negative results from contacts of the case, including repeat negative results from the case’s close contacts.

Testing centres will remain open in our medical practices. Please check the locations of interest, and get a test if you have been to any of them within the specified times.

If you have any symptoms of a cold or flu, any aches and pains at all, please stay home, call Healthline or your GP, and get a test.

It is a timely reminder to remember that Alert Level 1 takes everyone:

• Scan QR codes and turn Bluetooth on

• Wear a face covering on public transport and on domestic flights

• Stay home if you are sick and get a test – phone first

• Wash and dry our hands well and often
