Treescapes will be carrying out tree felling on Wood Street Greytown in the week of the 25th August. The iconic Wood Street Elms have been declining in health over many years and now three of the five listed trees are set for removal. Resource consent has been obtained to remove them. The trees now pose an immediate safety risk as they are carrying a large amount of dead wood. With frequent traffic passing under the trees into the Blue School, a day-care and after school care facility, the time has come for the trees to be removed.
