The Local Government Commission has recently been advised there were some errors in table 37 on page 216 of Vol 2.  The Commission asked the external consultants who contributed to the table to review their data.   The amended table and details of the consequential amendments should replace this table.

The Commission acknowledges it is unfortunate that the revision is necessary, but notes that the revision does not change its preferred option.  The Commission takes the full range of statutory criteria into account when considering the best arrangements for local government.  The estimates for transition costs are estimates only, and cost savings are not a major driver for the proposed change.
