Update, 13 April 2022: The strong wind watch over Wairarapa has been lifted as Cyclone Fili heads out to sea.

MetService is warning of strong winds up to gale force in parts of the greater Wellington region on Wednesday as Cyclone Fili moves south-east over the North Island.

The high winds should hit the Wairarapa between 9am and 9pm before moving away on Thursday. High waves are also possible on parts of the east coast.
