A consultation led by South Wairarapa and Carterton District Councils on an interim Speed Management Plan has now closed.
The proposal asked for feedback on lowering the speed limit around several schools and marae, and a speed limit review on some high-priority roads across the South Wairarapa and Carterton districts.
The Councils received a fantastic response, with more than 450 submissions being made in the four-week consultation period.
The Councils will now go through the process of collating the submissions, setting a date for submission hearings, and contacting those who have asked to speak to their submissions.
Following submission hearings, the two councils will discuss the submissions and take into consideration any suggested changes resulting from public feedback. Carterton District Council will make decisions on Carterton roads, and South Wairarapa District Council will make decisions on South Wairarapa Roads.
Any changes resulting from public feedback will then be made and a finalised version will be adopted by each Council in a public meeting.
